A Little About Me!

Hi, my name is Addison Eicholtz!

I am simply an 18 year old girl who loves to cook and bake. I tend to find baking a bit more exciting than cooking, however I always enjoy trying to find a good meal to make! Whatever it is, I just love spending time in the kitchen. It’s such a simple thing, but it truly makes me smile, and I hear that smiling can be pretty good for the soul!

I worked in a small local bakery throughout high school, making my love for baking quadruple. It is called Highline Bake Shop, and I highly recommend anything on the menu, you truly cannot go wrong. It was within that kitchen that I learned nearly everything I know about baking. It was just so fun. I saw all of the love, all of the smiles, all of the laughs. I got to understand the joy that baking could bring. Whether it was happy faces from customers that were glad we had what they wanted, or frowns turned a little more towards a smile when someone could get a treat after a bad day, I saw it all. But most notably I began to understand the many ways that food could bring community, comfort, and light into so many days – even the hardest ones.

So why “A Kid in Candyland” you might be asking?

I know it might sound odd to begin with, but maybe you will understand with a little explanation. Whether it was baking with my grandma or standing on a stool watching my mom throw dinner together, I have always loved any time spent in the kitchen. As I have gotten older and begun my own round of experimentation within the kitchen, I have discovered a world full of fun and creativity that I like to call my personal Candyland! Each of the dishes I make, whether carefully thought out or thrown together in the last minute, have a special place in my heart and thus… my Candyland!

Enjoy 🙂

So, without further ado, enjoy each individual recipe that has a home within my very own Candyland!
